Belgium Goal 2022

World Cup 2022 Preview: Group F – Belgium

One of the teams on the rise for the last five years wants to finally make the leap, and there’s no better chance than World Cup 2022 to do it. Belgium is making their 14th appearance at the international joust, and they are coming off a third place finish in 2018. The ‘Red Devils’ is the only team that has been ranked 1st in the FIFA Ranking without winning a World Cup, so there is no time like the present, and all sights are set on finally conquering the ultimate objective.

Favourable Group To Progress

Belgium is making its debut on Qatar on Wednesday, November 23rd against Canada. The North American team qualified first of their Confederation, but this squad on paper is no match for the ‘Red Devils’ who will look to start off strong. On match-day 2, Belgium will take on another favourable opponent, Morocco who have proven their worth against strong rivals in the past, but they lack the squad depth to pull something special. The toughest game for Belgium will be on match-day 3, against Croatia, but there’s a high chance that when this game comes around, the ‘Red Devils’ will already be qualified to the knockout stages, so we will probably see squad rotation for the ‘All European’ fixture.

Best National Manager Today

Since the arrival of the Spanish manager Roberto Martinez in 2016 not many expected the success he has achieved with the Belgium National Team. Martinez had a modest managing career before taking on the job, having coached at Swansea City, Wigan Athletic, and Everton. It’s all been serious progress since he took over, and he has done a superb job with one of the best generation of footballers in the history of Belgium. Martinez has made it to the top of the FIFA Rankings on several occasions, and after last World Cup bittersweet finish, he’ll certainly come back stronger, and has his eye on the prize.

World Stars On Top Of Their Game

The ‘Red Devils’ are led by Kevin DeBruyne, the Manchester City player is without a doubt one of the best midfielders in the world, and his club form has been better than never. If he carries his game to the National Team, as he always does, Belgium will have no problem in creating plenty of opportunities, and things get even better when DeBruyne plays along side goal-scoring talisman, Romelu Lukaku.

Other foundations for this team is captain, Eden Hazard, who even tough he never reached top form after his arrival to Real Madrid, he always finds a way to perform for Belgium. Teammate and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois won the Champions League with Madrid last season, and its one of the best shot-stoppers in football, who also provides a lot of security for this squad on the back.

Deep Run Against Fierce Favourites

Even tough Belgium is 2nd place in the FIFA Ranking and has topped the list more than once, the ‘Red Devils’ are not going to Qatar as favourites to win it all, since many believe teams like Brazil, France, or Argentina hold the upper hand, but this has favoured Belgium in the past, that’s because they can take on the tournament with no additional pressure. They will once again be the ‘Black Horse’ in the competition, and maybe it’s time to see a new World Cup Champion.
