Croatia vs Brazil

In what seems to be a very one sided matchup, we looked at the odds on several plays and came out with a couple interesting options. Brazil has been lights out the entire tournament, and even tough they lost their final group game (already qualified), la ‘Verdeamarela’ redeemed themselves and went straight back to business on the first knockout round demolishing Korea Republic 4-1. Brazil is a very tough team on all its lines (including the bench), and besides the ridiculous firepower they have upfront, the defence is rock solid. The only two goals Brazil has received was the lone goal versus Cameroon in stoppage time, and a wonder strike against Korea Republic. Croatia’s wonder team that went on to the final on the last World Cup is long gone, and they will struggle against an elite defence. There is no reason to believe we’ll see any kind of upset in this game, Brazil is the favourite to win the title as of today. (Brazil ML & BTTS: NO +105)

Netherlands vs Argentina

The main attraction of the day is going to be what seems to be a very balanced matchup between the underrated Netherlands, and Argentina feat. Messi. On one side the ‘Oranje’ won their knockout game against a solid, but young USMNT with authority (3-1), in a game that the Dutch dominated from start to finish, and even tough USA got one back, Van Gaal’s squad answered immediately. Netherlands is a very well coached team, they’ve scored on every game so far, and upfront Memphis Depay has found top form in the tournament. On the other side stands non-other than Lionel Messi and Argentina. The ‘Albiceleste’ has been far from spectacular as a team, but we all know the story of their main man, who has carried the team by himself making plays, scoring goals, and that has been more than enough to advance in the tournament. We are expecting some goals as Argentina will be tested against an elite rival, and the Albiceleste’s defensive flaws will give in once again. (o2.5 & BTTS +180)
