Picks For Sunday’s Liga MX Action Matchday 14

Picks For Sunday’s Liga MX Action Matchday 14

There are only going to be 3 games this Sunday in Liga MX. Virtually all of the matchups look to be evenly matched. Still, we believe that there’s money to be made with these games. You just have to find a number that you really like. Over the midweek matchups we were really unlucky on Tuesday, but bounced back Wednesday. If it wasn’t for the missed call on the late penalty in the Tijuana vs Chivas game we would have gone perfect in Wednesday’s action. We hope to continue our winning ways this Sunday!

Cruz Azul Gets The Win Against Mazatlan

To be honest we would feel a lot more comfortable with this pick if we had gotten a better number for the Cruz Azul win. Even though Cruz Azul has been widely inconsistent to down right awful throughout the entire tournament they are still favored at home against Mazatlan. Currently, the number is -106 in favor of Cruz Azul. The team once again showed that they are very shaky defensively. The good news is Mazatlan doesn’t have Monterrey’s firepower offensively. Cruz Azul needs to get the 3 points to keep their playoff hopes alive. We feel that all in all they should be able to pull through.

Atlas and San Luis Play To A Draw

The two time champions Atlas just haven’t been able to find their best form this season. At this point in the tournament they are pretty much out of it. However, a win against San Luis can help them keep their playoff hopes alive at least for another week. San Luis had been competitive in most of their games throughout the whole tournament. Recently though they’ve been exposed badly. San Luis is right on the edge of the playoffs tied in points with Mazatlan who at time of writing holds the 12th spot.

The bad few games San Luis has had could lead some people to trust Atlas in the matchup, but we don’t love the number on the Atlas win. They are favored at -106 just like Cruz Azul. The urgency doesn’t seem to be there with Atlas in the last couple of weeks. What we do love, is the draw number at +240. At the end of the day these are two teams that have been widely inconsistent. The draw would seem like the most fair result, at least on paper.

Pachuca Takes Down Tijuana At Home

In the final game of the day we have Pachuca taking on Tijuana. Both teams are coming off emotional games. Pachuca was down 2-0 to Puebla, but was able to come back and tie the game. They certainly deserved the tie as well, this was not one of these situations where a team got lucky. Puebla’s veteran goalkeeper, Anthony Silva, is in great form, and he proved that once again. Pachuca found ways to get shots on goal consistently, but Silva was able to keep the door closed for most of the match. In the final minutes of the match though Pachuca was able to break through and score two goals in the final minutes of the match.

Tijuana should’ve played Chivas to a draw, but they were ultimately hosed by a terrible VAR decision on the final play of the game that should’ve ended with a penalty in favor of Tijuana. The bad decision can’t be completely to blame for Tijuana’s terrible present form. The team has lost 4 out of their last 5 games. They are probably set to make it 5 out of 6. Pachuca is heavily favored with a -225 line. When you take both team’s recent form into account the number is not that bad!
