Our Picks For The Liga MX Wild Card Round – Best Bets

There are only going to be 4 games this weekend in LigaMX, so we’re going to go ahead and try to pick winners in all of them. One of the first things that we noticed when looking at the odds is that we don’t have huge favorites in the games. That’s something that we really liked because it allows us to side with the team that we truly feel is going to make it through to the next round. A lot of times you can be baited into picking a number that you like even if you don’t necessarily feel the outcome is likely. We got burned with Mazatlan last week against Santos which was one of our only misses.

Speaking of getting into the next round it’s important to point out that these bets are cashed in or lost after 90 minutes. On the field we do need to have a winner, so penalty kicks will proceed any game that ends in a draw. However, for betting purposes you can bet that the match will in fact end in a draw after 90 minutes of play. With that out of the way, let’s get to our picks!

Tigres Over Necaxa The Safest Pick

Does The Win Against Chivas Make Tigres A Title Contender Once Again

The betting odds for Tigres to pull out the win in the first game of the Wild Card weekend are -188. All things considered, we think this is a good number. There’s a pretty good chance that Necaxa will play the matchup ultra conservative and Tigres will just come in there and blow them out of the water. Tigres hasn’t been as consistent this year as their fans would want them to be, but they are still arguably a top 3 roster in the league so expect them to get the job done.

Love Cruz Azul With Positive Betting Odds At Home Against Leon

Fans and odds makers are having a hard time trusting this Cruz Azul team. This is what we know though, they picked up 16 out of a possible 21 points to end the season. They’ve been fighting for their playoff lives for weeks now. +110 at home against a Leon team with one of the weakest defenses in the league? We love that number! Even if you don’t trust Cruz Azul can you really trust Leon?

Toluca and Juarez Will Go To Penalties

Toluca pounced on the worst team in the league, Queretaro in the last week of the season, and they want us to forget that they’ve been flat out bad for weeks now. This was a team that was supposed to be a title contender. Somewhere along the line though something broke. Just one good game isn’t going to fix all of their problems. Juarez FC on the other hand have battled all season. They are a tough team to play, but their issue is self-discipline. If they can keep their heads cool they’ll be able to take the match to penalties. The draw is currently at +275, the number we like the most in this matchup.

Puebla And Chivas Will Also Go The Distance Drawing In 90 Minutes

We’re picking another matchup to go the distance and end in a draw. Our logic is simply here, we just don’t trust any team offensively. Plus, Puebla had 10 of their games end in a draw this season. That’s more than any other team in the league. Just statistically it makes sense to put your money on the most common outcome with this team. If you add to that the fact that the draw pays +210 you could argue that this pick is even safer than Tigres at home!
