The best player for Mexico during the Qatar 2022 World Cup, midfielder Luis Chavez from Club Pachuca has been a hot target during the transfer window, and at the beginning it seemed as if his chances to move to Europe were slim, but as of today there is real interest from several clubs, and he may be on the verge of making the leap.

Chavez recently rejected a huge offer to Club Monterrey since he has his sight set on making an European move this winter.

FC Porto Has Not Placed A Bid

Even though the Portuguese powerhouse has not made an official bid as of today, it has already been revealed that FC Porto is the front runner to land the talented midfielder. There has been plenty of talks among the European club and Club Pachuca on the last few weeks, since the ‘Dragons’ have been inquiring not only for Chavez, but also for up and coming right-back Kevin Alvarez.

Porto has already declined to move forward with Alvarez, since his price tag is very high, but the Portuguese club still holds talks with Pachuca for Chavez, whom they are still very interested in, and the amount of money that is being talked about is manageable for the Dragons.

The Portuguese club is expected to place an official bid in the following days, and Pachuca has already agreed to let Chavez make the move if the offer is good enough.

As the winter transfer window nears its conclusion, its believed that a new club is interested as well in Chavez, whom they see as a great candidate to bring more commercial appeal to the Bundesliga, since this move will make a good addition to any team as they’ll be getting a highly talented player, and a viewership magnet.

It was not revealed what German club is the one interested, only that it’s a team that has already had a Mexican player in its ranks, so according to this information we can deduct it’ll be among Leverkusen, Stuttgart, or Frankfurt.

Who will close the deal with Mexico’s National Team midfield jewel? Time is running out on the transfer window.
