CONCACAF Officially joins Copa America 2024

2024 Copa America

Good news for CONCACAF was revealed earlier today, as it was officially announced that the Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean will be joining the highly rated tournament once again for its 2024 edition. The Tournament will be an excellent test run for the hosts of the 2026 World Cup; United States, Mexico, and Canada.

United States Will Host

In the joint statement released today the plans of organizing the international tournament in the United States was confirmed, and it will feature all 10 teams from CONMEBOL and 6 teams from CONCACAF.

The six guests from CONCACAF will have to earn their spot in the Nations League, which automatically brings additional importance to the regional joust, which had no real importance for teams prior to today’s announcement.

The venues for the tournament are yet to be determined, but this test run will be a pretty good opportunity for the next World Cup hosts to polish last details for the big show.

Great Opportunity For Qualified Teams

Mexico, United States and Canada are all automatically qualified for the 2026 World Cup since they will be hosting, so this very competitive tournament will be a great opportunity for them to make a run for the title and establish themselves as true contenders in their own World Cup.

Mexico and United States have a lot of work to do ahead since both are in the process of changing managers, so there is no time to waste with Copa America just over a year away.
