Chelsea Wants To Hijack Mudryk Deal

The drama continues in the Shakhtar Donetsk’s and Ukraine winger Mykhailo Mudryk saga. Since the beginning of the week it was reported that the young player was set to make a deal with Arsenal when he accepted personal terms, but things may take an unexpected twi$t.

Rejected Offer

In the past weeks Arsenal had already made an opening offer to Shakhtar Donetsk which was rejected, but the Gunners made this week an improved second offer believed to be of approximately €62M including add-ons, but today this bid was also rejected by the Ukrainian team, which are starting to get greedy, and are not budging on their €80M valuation of the player.

This news is music to Chelsea’s ears, who’ve been monitoring closely this transfer and want to step in last minute to snatch the player from their bitter rivals, which would be a big blow from the ‘Blues’.

Chelsea’s new American owner Todd Boehly, has already given the green light on making the deal happen, and the high price tag should be no problem for the West London side, which has been struggling this season. The ‘Blues’ are urgently trying to put things back on track so they can at least fight for a top four spot this season.

Is Mudryk Worth It?

The question everybody is starting to ask is if Arsenal should budge and just pay what is asked for, or if they should look elsewhere for the players they need, so this comes down to making a bet on a player that’s still young and needs to adapt to english football. Maybe the €80M+ price tag just doesn’t make sense for the leaders of the Premier League.

Chelsea on the other side may be just trying to up the price so their rivals have to spend big money, but the ‘Blues’ might just walk away with the player on the end, even though Mudryk has openly made his preference for Arsenal known.

Shakhtar Donetsk’s director of football Darijo Srna is going to be in London this week, and he is expected to attend tomorrow’s match between Chelsea and Manchester City.

Arsenal are still negotiating, but who will strike a deal first?
